As we rejoice in the gift of this new day, so may the light of your presence, O God, set our hearts on fire with love for you; now and for ever. Amen.
Direct us, O Lord, in all our doings with thy most gracious favor, and further us with thy continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may glorify thy holy Name, and finally, by thy mercy, obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Let me set aside the day's work, with its disappointments, tasks accomplished and those that remain to be done; let me leave all this aside, so that none of it will distract me from those I love and who love me. You have given me work to do for the greater good, and you have given those closest to me to love that we might find joy in each other. Give me wisdom to respond to your call in both and to receive them both as gifts from your hand. Amen.
